The Spengler Cup 1978 ( French Coupe Spengler 1978 ) was the 52nd edition of the competition of the same name and took place from December 26th to 30th, 1978 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The ice rink there served as the venue .

The winner of the ASD Dukla Jihlava , which all its four matches won, before AIK Stockholm . It was the fourth tournament victory of the Czechoslovak Army Club after 1966 , 1967 and 1969 . As in previous years, the host HC Davos did not take part in the tournament and was represented on the Swiss side by the national team . The Czechoslovak Miloš Kupec was the most successful player in the tournament with seven points , including five goals.

mode

The five participating teams played in a single round in the " everyone against everyone " mode , so that each team played four games. The team with the highest points won the tournament.
