The Spengler Cup 1976 ( French Coupe Spengler 1976 ) was the 50th edition of the competition of the same name and took place from December 26th to 31st, 1976 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The ice rink there served as the venue . The tournament won the Soviet B national team without defeat.

Attendees

Five national teams took part in the tournament, with the Soviet Union, Finland and Czechoslovakia each represented by a B national team. The Soviet team consisted of players from Kristall Saratow and Chimik Woskressensk , Czechoslovakia was represented by Tesla Pardubice . The Finnish team consisted mainly of junior national players.

Economically, the tournament was a failure as only about 19,000 spectators attended the games.

mode

The five participating teams played in a single round in the " everyone against everyone " mode , so that each team played four games. The team with the highest points won the tournament.
