The Spengler Cup 1982 ( French Coupe Spengler 1982 ) was the 56th edition of the competition of the same name and took place from December 26th to 30th, 1982 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The ice rink there served as the venue .

The Czechoslovak champions ASD Dukla Jihlava , HK Spartak Moscow - without their national players Viktor Schalimow , Sergei Shepelev , Sergei Kapustin and Koschewnikow , the Cologne EC and the reinforced host HC Davos took part in the tournament. Bob Hess from HC Lugano , Dave Gardner from HC Ambrì-Piotta , the EHC-Kloten players Bruce Affleck and Bernie Johnston and Peter Sullivan from SC Langnau joined the team . With the University of North Dakota ( Fighting Sioux ), an American college team also took part in the tournament.

It won Dukla Jihlava, who won all of his four games, ahead of the defending champion Spartak Moscow. It was the fourth tournament victory for the team from Czechoslovakia after 1966 , 1967 , 1969 and 1978 . The Russian Alexander Orlow and the Canadian Peter Sullivan, who was loaned from SC Langnau to the hosts HC Davos, were the most successful players in the tournament with seven points , including four goals each.

With a total of 53,260 spectators, the tournament again set a new visitor record. Five of the ten tournament games were sold out, including all four of the HCD's games.
