Alexander Wiktorowitsch Koschewnikow ( Russian Александр Викторович Кожевников ; born September 21, 1958 in Penza ) is a former Soviet - Russian ice hockey player who was active for many years for Spartak Moscow and Krylya Sovetov Moscow in the highest Soviet ice hockey league , and the Vyshaya League .

Career

During his career he played with Krylya Sowetow Moscow and HK Spartak Moscow . In the 1985 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected in the 11th round in 227th place by the Calgary Flames . Nevertheless, he did not go to the National Hockey League after the collapse of the Soviet Union , but moved to Great Britain and Sweden for one season each. In total, he scored 243 goals in 525 games in the Wysschaya League .

International

Due to his performance at Spartak Moscow Koschewnikow was appointed to the Soviet national team. On August 14, 1981 he was in a game against Sweden for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. His international career was crowned with gold medals at the 1984 and 1988 Winter Olympics . For the national team, he scored 28 goals in 70 international matches. On May 20, 1988, he played his last international match. In 1982 he was named the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR .
