The Durham Wasps were an ice hockey club in the city of Durham , England . The Wasps played in the British Hockey League from 1982 to 1996 . They played their home games in the 2,860-seat Durham Ice Rink.

The Durham Wasps played from 1982 to 1996 throughout its existence in the British Hockey League , the then top British league. In 1985, 1986, 1989, 1991 and 1992 they won their championship titles. As the British representative, the team competed several times in the European ice hockey cup at international level , but could not convince there. The Durham Wasps won the Autumn Cup in 1984, 1987, 1988 and 1990 respectively . In 1996 the association was dissolved.
