Darren Durdle (born August 15, 1963 in Gimli , Manitoba ) is a former Canadian - British ice hockey player who was active for three seasons for the Eisbären Berlin in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Durdle began his career in 1982 in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League with Lethbridge Broncos , which he left during the current 1982/83 season to move to league rivals Prince Albert Raiders . In the summer of 1985 he got a scholarship at Brandon University , for whose ice hockey team he played until 1988 in the college and university league Canadian Interuniversity Sport . After he had finished his studies, Durdle was active for several teams in Great Britain, whereupon he received British citizenship. For the season 1996/97 the defender signed a contract with the Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League . With the Eisbären, Durdle reached third place in the European Hockey League in 1999 . He then returned to Great Britain, where he was a season in the squad of the Cardiff Devils . After the 1999/00 season, he ended his active ice hockey career at the age of 35.
International
For the British national team Durdle took part in the 1997 World Cup and the qualification for this. In ten games he scored three points, including one goal.
