The Spengler Cup 2011 ( French Coupe Spengler 2011 ) was the 85th edition of the competition of the same name and took place from December 26th to 31st, 2011 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The local Vaillant Arena acted as the venue . A total of 68,919 spectators attended the eleven tournament games, which corresponds to an average of 6,265 per game.

It was won by the hosts HC Davos , who won the tournament by beating Dinamo Riga 3-2 in the final . For the HCD it was the 15th title win and the first since 2006 . The Latvian Roberts Bukarts in the service of the finalist from Riga was the most successful player in the tournament with six points , including two goals.

mode

The six participating teams initially played in two preliminary round groups - named after the Davos ice hockey legends Richard Torriani and the Cattini brothers Ferdinand and Hans - three teams each in a single round in the " everyone against everyone " mode , so that each team initially played two games Placements based on points. The two group winners qualified directly for the semifinals, while the second and third placed in a knockout duel played off the other two semifinals.
