Christopher Fischer (born January 24, 1988 in Heidelberg ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with Schwenninger Wild Wings in the German Ice Hockey League since March 2019 .

Career

Christopher Fischer began his career with Jungadlern Mannheim, the youth division of Adler Mannheim from the German Ice Hockey League . For the young eagles he scored 36 goals and 84 assists in 104 games and won the championship title in the German junior league every year . He was also in the 2004/05 season in six games for the Mannheim ERC in the Baden-Württembergliga and in a game for the Mannheim farm team Heilbronner Falken in the Oberliga season 2005/06 on the ice.

Fischer had a contract with the Adler until 2009 and played both for Mannheim in the DEL and for Heilbronn in the 2nd Bundesliga . For the 2009/10 season he moved to the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg , with whom he signed a contract until 2013. There, Fischer developed into a support for his team and a national player. However , Fischer completely missed the 2012/13 season due to cartilage damage. Already in the summer of 2012 it became known that Fischer was returning to league rivals Adler Mannheim after the season. In the 2014/15 season he was German champion with the eagles. For the 2016/17 season he signed a three-year contract with league competitor Iserlohn Roosters .

In March 2019, he left the Roosters and moved to Schwenninger Wild Wings , where he received a two-year contract.

In April 2009, Fischer began a Bachelor's degree in International Management at Ansbach University , a course that was specially designed for top athletes.

International

Fischer took part in the U18 Junior World Cup in 2006 and in early 2007 in the U20 World Cup, where he scored a goal and an assist, but could not prevent the German juniors from being relegated from the top division. So he took part in the U20 World Cup in Division I the following year . There he provided 7 templates in 5 games and was voted the best defender of the tournament. With his performance, he contributed significantly to the immediate resurgence of the German team.

With the German men's selection , Fischer took part in the ice hockey world championships in Finland and Sweden in 2012 . In 7 tournament games he scored 2 goals and 2 assists. He also took part in the 2011 Deutschland Cup with the German selection .
