Benedikt Brückner (born January 1, 1990 in Marktoberdorf ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with Schwenninger Wild Wings from the German Ice Hockey League since the 2015/16 season .

The 1.85 m tall defender first played for ESV Kaufbeuren in the school and youth league, before joining the Jungadler Mannheim in the German junior league in 2005 and becoming German junior champion there in 2006 and 2008. He was also able to be the top scorer of the DNL play-offs 2007/08 with twelve points in eight games . Already in this season the left shooter was used for the first time with the Heilbronner Falken , the cooperation partner of the Adler, in the 2nd Bundesliga , since the season 2008/09 Brückner was regularly on the ice for the Falken. In the 2008/09 season , the defender made his debut at Adler Mannheim in the DEL.

In February 2010, the defender was signed by the Straubing Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League and signed a contract for two seasons, with the club's option for a third year. After Brückner received little ice age as a surplus defender at the beginning of the season, he was given a funding license from ESV Kaufbeuren , which meant that he was also eligible to play in the 2nd Bundesliga .

In 2013, Brückner left the Tigers and played for EHC Red Bull Munich in the following two seasons before signing a contract for the following season with Schwenninger Wild Wings in March 2015 .

International

Benedikt Brückner competed in the 2007 and 2008 U18 World Championships with the German U18 national team . In a total of twelve games in the U18 division, he scored two assists . Since 2008 he has been a regular player in the German U20 team and took part in the U20 Junior World Championship in the top division in 2009 and the U20 Junior World Championship in Division I in 2010 .

In the 2013/14 season he made his debut in the men's national team .
