Marcel Jenni (born March 2, 1974 in Niederhünigen ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player who was active in the Swiss National League A for many years for Kloten Flyers and HC Lugano . He also played for Färjestad BK in the Elitserien for five years and won a Swedish championship title .

Career

Jenni was already on the ice when she was seven. He began his career in 1981 as an ice hockey player at EHC Illnau-Effretikon , played for the Grasshopper Club Zurich from 1990 to 1993 and moved to HC Lugano for the 1993/94 season , with which he became Swiss champion in 1999 . After a dispute with coach Jim Koleff , he moved to Färjestad BK in the Swedish league in 2000 . There he was the playoff top scorer in 2001 and became Swedish champion in 2002. From 2005 he played for the Kloten Flyers .

In October 2014, he crashed head first into the gang in an NLA game and suffered a concussion and a bruised disc with a tear in the back muscles. As a result, he was out until the end of the season. After ten years in Kloten, Jenni did not get a new contract after the 2014/15 season, in August 2015 he ended his career due to health problems.

International

For the Swiss national ice hockey team he took a. a. at the 1998 World Cup, where the team reached the semi-final qualification (4th place).
