Fredrik Warg (born May 3, 1979 in Boliden ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who was most recently under contract at Brynäs IF in the Svenska Hockeyligan . In the DEL he played briefly for ERC Ingolstadt , before that he was on the ice for MODO Hockey for over ten seasons . His cousin Jonathan Hedström is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Fredrik Warg began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the Bolidens FFI, for whose senior team he made his debut in the then third-rate Division 2 in the 1994/95 season . He then moved to the youth department of MODO Hockey , for whose professional team the winger was active in the Elitserien from 1999 to 2005 . In the seasons 1999/2000 and 2001/02 he was runner-up with his team. In parallel to playing with MODO Hockey, he was used between 1999 and 2002 for IF Sundsvall Hockey and IF Björklöven in HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division. From 2005 to 2007 he played for Timrå IK before returning to MODO Hockey for two years. From 2009 to 2011 he ran for the Skellefteå AIK , which he also led to the runner- up in the 2010/11 season as team captain.

For the 2011/12 season Warg was committed by Dinamo Riga from the Continental Hockey League . A year later he returned to Sweden and received a contract with the newly promoted Rögle BK .

International

For Sweden , Warg took part in the 2007 and 2008 World Championships .
