The Spengler Cup 1985 ( French Coupe Spengler 1985 ) was the 59th edition of the competition of the same name and took place from December 26th to 30th, 1985 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The ice rink there served as the venue .

The winner of the HC Spartak Moscow , who remained undefeated in all four games before the defending champion Team Canada . The team from the Soviet capital won the tournament for the third time after 1980 and 1981 . The Russian Alexander Koschewnikow was the most successful player of the tournament with nine points , including five goals.

This year's event was the last at which the tournament was played in just four days. With the staging of 1986 , there was an additional game on New Year's Eve between the two first-placed qualifiers for the tournament victory.

mode

The five participating teams played in a single round in the " everyone against everyone " mode , so that each team played four games. The team with the highest points won the tournament.
