The Spengler Cup 2019 ( French Coupe Spengler 2019 ) was the 93rd edition of the competition of the same name and took place from December 26th to 31st, 2019 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The local Vaillant Arena acted as the venue . A total of 68,048 spectators attended the eleven tournament games, which corresponds to an average of 6,186 per game.

It was won by Team Canada , which won the tournament by a 4-0 victory in the final over the Czech representative HC Oceláři Třinec . For the Canadians, after a one-year break, it was the fourth title in the past five years and the 16th title win since 1984 . With that, the Canadians took over the sole position as record winner of the traditional tournament.

The Canadian Kevin Clark was the most successful player in the tournament with eight points , including six goals.

mode

The six participating teams initially play in two preliminary round groups - named after the Davos ice hockey legends Richard Torriani and the Cattini brothers Ferdinand and Hans - three teams each in a single round in the " everyone against everyone " mode , so that each team initially plays two games Placements based on points. The two group winners qualify directly for the semifinals, while the second and third placed players play off the other two semifinal participants in a knockout duel. The two semi-final winners finally determine the tournament winner on the final day.
