Harri Pesonen (born August 6, 1988 in Jyväskylä ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from the Continental Hockey League (KHL) since May 2020 .
Career
Harri Pesonen began his career as a hockey player in 2007 at JYP Jyväskylä , for which he was already active as a youth. In the 2007/08 season Pesonen made his debut for JYP in the SM-liiga , when he was on the ice in three games in which he remained free of points and punishment. In the following season, the attacker became a regular player and scored seven points, including four goals, in 47 games and was Finnish champion with his team.
Between 2012 and 2014 he was under contract with the New Jersey Devils and played for their farm team, the Albany Devils , in the American Hockey League . He also came to a total of four missions in the National Hockey League , in which he remained pointless.
After two seasons in the organization of the Devils Pesonen returned to Europe and was signed by Lausanne HC for two years in May 2014 . His contract was later extended to 2018, after which he moved to the SCL Tigers . After two years with the Tigers Pesonen left the Swiss club and moved to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , who paid a transfer fee for him.
International
In the junior division, Pesonen took part in the U20 World Junior Championship for Finland in 2008 . Three years later he made his debut for the Finnish men's national team at the 2011 Channel One Cup , scoring two goals.
