There he was able to establish himself as a strong attacking winger and moved to the PEI Rocket for the 2010/11 season within the league . Nestrašil built on his previous achievements with a total of 70 scorer points in 58 games, so that in May 2011 he signed a three-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings from the National Hockey League , which had previously secured the transfer rights to the Czech as part of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft , got. In the 2014/15 season , the left-handed shooter completed 13 games for the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League for the first time before he was signed by league rival Carolina Hurricanes in November 2014 . There Nestrašil was able to establish himself in the regular squad right away and played a total of 41 games in the top division of North America over the rest of the season. In the summer of 2015, his contract in Carolina was extended by two years.
After fulfilling the contract Nestrašil returned to Europe and joined Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk from the Continental Hockey League . In the following two years he completed 109 KHL games for Neftechimik, in which he collected 56 scorer points. In the summer of 2019 he hoped for a place in a training camp of the NHL clubs, but received no invitation and at the end of September 2019 decided to sign with HC Oceláři Třinec . A few days he received a contract offer from HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk and accepted it using an exit clause .
