Career
Juho Lammikko was born in Noormarkku and began playing ice hockey in the neighboring Pori , in the youth department of the Ässät professional club . For their U20 he ran from the 2011/12 season in the Jr. A SM-liiga , the highest-ranking junior league in Finland. Already in 2013 he was selected in the KHL Junior Draft in 102nd position by Atlant Moskowskaja Oblast , before he established himself in the Jr. A SM-liiga and there in the 2013/14 season with 42 scorer points from 37 games to an average of came over 1.0. At the same time, the winger played his first games for the professional division of Ässät in the Liiga before he was also considered in the NHL Entry Draft 2014 in 65th place by the Florida Panthers .
As a result, Lammikko decided to move to North America by joining the Kingston Frontenacs from the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), who had previously acquired the rights to him in the CHL Import Draft . With 44 and 55 points respectively, the Finn confirmed his scoring skills at the Frontenacs in the following two years, so that he was awarded an entry contract by the Florida Panthers in April 2016 . For their farm team , the Portland Pirates , he made his professional debut in North America a little later in the American Hockey League (AHL). Since the beginning of the 2016/17 season he has been regularly playing for Florida's new farm team, the Springfield Thunderbirds . At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, the striker was finally called into the Panthers squad for the first time and thus also made his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL). There he came to 40 missions by the end of the season.
After a total of four years in North America, Lammikko returned to his Finnish homeland in July 2019 and joined Kärpät Oulu there. For Oulu, Lammikko scored 51 points in 57 games of the season, making it the sixth-best scorer in the Liiga. He then received a contract with HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from the Continental Hockey League (KHL) in June 2020 .
International
Lammikko gained his first international experience at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2013 , before winning the gold medal at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2013 in the same age group . The attacker then represented the Finnish U20 national team at the U20 World Cup in 2016 , where they became World Junior Champions.
