Sergei Valerjewitsch Mosjakin ( Russian Сергей Валерьевич Мозякин ; born March 30, 1981 in Yaroslavl ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has played in the Continental Hockey League for HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk since 2011 .
Career
Sergei Mosjakin began his career in 1998 with Val-d'Or Foreurs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League . In the 2002 NHL Entry Draft , the Columbus Blue Jackets selected him in the ninth round in 263rd place. From 1999 to 2006 the striker played for HK CSKA Moscow . At his next club, Atlant Mytishchi , the Russian was under contract from 2006 to 2011. For the 2011/12 season he moved within the league to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , with whom he won the KHL championship trophy , the Gagarin Cup , in 2014 and 2016 .
International
In 2008 and 2009 , Mosjakin was world champion with the Russian national team . Previously, he took part in the 2006 World Cup, where he finished fifth with the Russian selection. In the 2007/08 season he was also part of the Euro Hockey Tour , scoring four goals and three assists in twelve games.
Further missions in the Sbornaja followed at the World Championships in 2013 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 , with Mosjakin winning the silver medal in 2015 and the bronze medal in 2016 and 2017. He also represented his home country under a neutral flag at the 2018 Winter Games , where he became Olympic champion with the Sbornaja .
