Aron Chmielewski (born October 9, 1991 in Gdansk ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Oceláři Třinec in the Czech extra league since 2014 , but also plays on loan at lower-class clubs.

Career

Aron Chmielewski began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Stoczniowiec Gdańsk . In 2007 he moved to the U18 of the Hannover Indians in the youth Bundesliga , the second highest junior league in Germany. But after a year he moved back to Danzig , where he was initially used in the second team that played in the I league . From 2009 to 2011 he played for his home club in the Ekstraliga , the highest Polish division. In 2011, in his second year, he was nominated for the all-star game in the Polish league. When the shipyard workers' club withdrew its adult teams for financial reasons, Chmielewski moved from the Baltic coast to KS Cracovia in the Lesser Poland south of the country. With the team from Kraków, he was Polish national champion in 2013 and cup winner in 2014 . The strong performances shown at Cracovia, in the 2013/14 season he scored 69 points in 48 league games, drew the attention of the Czech top club HC Oceláři Třinec and Chmielewski moved to the Czech extra league in 2014 . In the 2014/15 season he played in addition to some appearances in the extra league , but initially mainly for HC AZ Havířov 2010 from the second-class 1st division . From 2015 to 2018 he was temporarily loaned to HC Frydek-Mistek, with whom he was promoted from the 2nd division , the third highest Czech ice hockey league , to the local 1st division in 2016 . In the 2017/18 season, for the first time, Oceláři Třinec played more often in the extra league than in lower class for Frydek-Mistek.

International

For Poland, Chmielewski took part in the junior division at the U18 World Championships in Division I in 2008 and 2009 as well as in the U20 World Championship in Division I in 2010 and the U20 World Championship in Division II in 2011 , when he was not only the most successful goalscorer and scorer, but also the best Plus / minus balance could show, partly.

At senior level, he stood for the first time at the world championship in 2014 in contingent of his country and rose to the A-group with the poles of the B group of Division I. There he played at the tournaments in 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . He also represented his colors in qualifying for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
