The Spengler Cup 1992 ( French Coupe Spengler 1992 ) was the 66th edition of the competition of the same name and took place from December 26th to 31st, 1992 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The ice rink there served as the venue .
It was won by Team Canada , which won the tournament with a 6: 5 victory in the final over Färjestad BK . The Canadians had already won the game 5-3 in qualifying. It was the fourth tournament success for the Canadians after 1984 , 1986 and 1987 . As in the previous two years, the host HC Davos did not take part in the tournament and was represented on the Swiss side by Friborg-Gottéron . The Swede Håkan Loob was the most successful player in the tournament with eight points , including four goals.
mode
The five participating teams initially played in a single round in the " everyone against everyone " mode , so that each team played four games. The two teams with the best points after completing the ten qualifying games finally determined the tournament winner in an additional game.
