Brian Carter Tutt (born June 9, 1962 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who, during his active career, played in the National Hockey League for the Washington Capitals and in the German Ice Hockey League for the SERC Wild Wings , Hanover Scorpions and Adler Mannheim played.
Career
The 1.86 m tall defender began his career with the Calgary Wranglers in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League before he was selected in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft as 126th in the sixth round by the Philadelphia Flyers .
However, the left-handed shooter never completed an NHL game for the Flyers and was initially used in lower-class farm teams in the International Hockey League and American Hockey League . After a short stay at EHC Lustenau in Austria , Tutt finally moved to the Washington Capitals , for which he completed his only seven NHL appearances in the 1989/90 season . The Canadian played for various Scandinavian teams between 1990 and 1996 and moved to Germany for the 1996/97 season to join the SERC Wild Wings , which he left after his first DEL season for Hannover Scorpions . Tutt was on the ice for the Scorpions for three years, and in the 1998/99 season he also played 14 games for the DEL record champion Adler Mannheim .
Brian Tutt ended his career in 2001 with the Huntsville Tornado in the Central Hockey League , a US minor league .
International
For the Canadian national ice hockey team Brian Tutt played the world championships in 1992 and 1995 , he was also on the ice at the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville and won the silver medal with the team.
