The Spengler Cup 1993 ( French Coupe Spengler 1993 ) was the 67th edition of the competition of the same name and took place from December 26 to 31, 1993 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The ice rink there served as the venue . The tournament was attended by a total of 76,020 spectators.

It was won by Färjestad BK , who won the tournament with a 6: 3 victory in the final over the hosts HC Davos . In the qualification, the Swiss had won the game 3-2. After taking part in the final last year , it was the first victory of the Swedish club and the first ever victory of a Swedish team at the Spengler Cup. The host HC Davos took part in the tournament for the first time since 1989 and achieved the best placement since 1981 . The Russian Andrei Chomutow in the service of the HCD was the most successful player in the tournament with ten scorer points , including six goals.

mode

The five participating teams initially played in a single round in the " everyone against everyone " mode , so that each team played four games. The two teams with the best points after completing the ten qualifying games finally determined the tournament winner in an additional game.
