Herbert Brück (born January 13, 1900 in Vienna , Austria ; † April 1974 in Kīhei , Hawaii ) was an Austrian ice hockey and bandy player of Jewish origin. His older brother Walter was also a hockey player.

Career

Herbert Brück was born in Vienna and grew up there. He played from 1914/15 for the Vienna Ice Skating Club , for which he took part in the Vienna Ice Ball Championship in 1915/16 and won the Ice Hockey Championship in 1924 and 1927 . From 1927 he played for the Berlin ice skating club , with which he became German champion in 1928 and 1929 .

In Berlin he worked as a bank clerk and later ran a car dealership.

Internationally he played for the Austrian national ice hockey team at the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 , at the Ice Hockey World Championships in 1930 (bronze medal), in 1931 and 1933 and at the European Ice Hockey Championships, European Ice Hockey Championships 1925 to 1929 and 1932 . In total, he completed over 50 international matches for Austria.

In 1936 he played in the 2nd Winter Maccabiade for the German selection. During the Second World War he was interned in Sachsenhausen concentration camp , but survived the Holocaust and later emigrated to England .
