Career
Radek Dvořák began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth of HC České Budějovice , for whose professional team he was active in the Czech extra league from 1993 to 1995 . He was then selected in the first round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft as the tenth player in total by the Florida Panthers , for whom he was on the ice for the following four and a half years in the National Hockey League . On December 30, 1999 he was given to the New York Rangers , for which he played for another three and a half seasons in the NHL. The attacker then played for the Edmonton Oilers until the lockout in the 2004/05 NHL season . The right-handed shooter bridged the time during the lockout in his Czech homeland, where he was hired by HC České Budějovice. The club, where Dvořák had started his career and which had meanwhile been relegated to the second-class first division , he led back to the extra division as second division champions.
After resumption of play in the NHL Dvořák initially returned to the Edmonton Oilers before he received a contract with their league rivals, the St. Louis Blues , on September 14, 2006 as a free agent . Before the 2007/08 game year , the Czech finally returned to his ex-club Florida Panthers. At the end of February 2011, he was given in a transfer deal to the Atlanta Thrashers .
On July 1, 2011, he signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Stars . End of January 2013 he was appointed by HC Davos of the Swiss National League A committed. After leaving the NLA playoffs with HC Davos, he signed a contract with the Anaheim Ducks in March 2013 until the end of the season . After only six months in Anaheim, he moved to the Carolina Hurricanes in September 2013 . His one-year contract in Carolina was not renewed after the 2013/14 season, so that he was looking for a new employer as a free agent from July 2014 .
At the beginning of January 2015, he officially ended his career.
