Career
Petr Průcha comes from the offspring of HC Chrudim . In 2000 he moved to the junior division of HC Moeller Pardubice , for which he was active in the U20 extra league. During the 2001/02 season he made his debut for Pardubice in the Extraliga , but also continued to play for the juniors. He was the top scorer of the U20 extra league in the 2001/02 season. Then the New York Rangers selected him during the NHL Entry Draft 2002 in the eighth round in 240th place. However, Průcha stayed with HC Moeller until 2005 and was Czech champions in his last season with this team .
After this success he moved to North America to the Rangers, for whom he scored 47 points scorer in 68 games in his rookie season. On July 5, 2007, Průcha signed a new two-year contract with the Rangers for a total of 3.2 million US dollars . Almost two years later, on March 4, 2009, he was handed over to the Phoenix Coyotes along with Dmitri Kalinin and Nigel Dawes , who in return sent Derek Morris to the Rangers.
In January 2011 he moved to SKA Saint Petersburg in the Continental Hockey League , after he had previously lost his NHL regular place and was mostly used in the AHL farm team of the Coyotes.
