Stefano Margoni (born May 12, 1975 in Pozza di Fassa ) is a former Italian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with HC Neumarkt in the A2 series and the Inter-National League .

Career

Stefano Margoni began his career as a hockey player at SHC Fassa , for whose professional team he was active in the Italian A1 series from 1991 to 2005 . He spent the 2005/06 season at their league rivals HC Bozen before running for three years for SG Pontebba , with which he won the Coppa Italia in 2008 . For the 2009/10 season , the winger returned to his home club SHC Fassa. In 2013 he moved to HC Neumarkt , where he ended his career in 2014 by winning the Inter-National League .

International

For Italy , Margoni took part in the junior division at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1993 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1994 and 1995 . In the senior division, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2003 , 2005 and 2009 as well as in the top division in 1999 , 2000 , 2001 , 2002 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 and 2010 . He also represented Italy at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and 2006 in Turin, as well as in the Olympic qualification for the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City .
