Radoslav Suchý (born April 7, 1976 in Kežmarok , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Poprad in the Slovakian extra league since October 2011 .
Career
Radoslav Suchý began his career as an ice hockey player with ŠKP PS Poprad , for which he made his debut in the Slovak Extra League in the 1993/94 season . Then the defender moved to the Sherbrooke Faucons , for which he was active for three years in the Québec Major Junior Hockey League . After two seasons in which the Slovak for the Las Vegas Thunder of the International Hockey League and the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League played, he received in 1999 - without ever drafted to have been - a contract with the Phoenix Coyotes , for he accrued the following five seasons in the National Hockey League .
During the lockout in the 2004/05 NHL season , Suchý returned to his former club in Poprad, for whom he scored a total of 15 scorer points, including five goals, in 34 games in the main round. After resumption of play in the NHL, the left-handed shooter received a contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets for which he posted a total of eight scorer points, including one goal, in 79 games in the 2005/06 season . After one season Suchý left the Blue Jackets again and was signed by the ZSC Lions from the Swiss National League A , for which he played in the following four years, with whom he became Swiss champion in 2008 and won the Champions Hockey League in 2009 .
After a Slovak team was accepted into the Continental Hockey League for the first time with HC Lev Poprad , Suchý returned to his homeland for the 2010/11 season and signed with the KHL newcomer from Poprad. Since this did not start the game, Suchý initially trained with HK Poprad and got a contract in early September. For the 2011/12 season he was committed by HK Awangard Omsk from the KHL. After only five missions, in which he gave two templates, he left Awangard Omsk again in October 2011 and rejoined the HK Poprad from the extra league.

For Slovakia Suchý participated in the World Championships in 2000 , 2003 and 2005 in part. He was also in the line-up of Slovakia at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .
