Peter Nordström (born July 26, 1974 in Munkfors ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who played for the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League from 1989 to 2010 .

Career

Peter Nordström began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at IFK Munkfors , for whose first team he was active from 1989 to 1994 in the then third-class Division 2 , where he was promoted to Division 1 with Munkfors in the 1993/94 season . During the 1994/95 season, the attacker moved to Leksands IF in the Elitserien , for whose U20 juniors he played four games in parallel until the end of the season. In the summer of 1995, the left-handed shooter was signed by Färjestad BK , with whom he won the Swedish championship five times and was runner-up four times in the following 14 years . During this period he was also selected in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft in the third round as a total of 78th player by the Boston Bruins . For this, however, he played only two games in the National Hockey League at the beginning of the 1998/99 season. He also ran another 13 times for their farm team from the American Hockey League , the Providence Bruins .

For the 2009/10 season, Nordström signed a contract with his ex-club Leksands IF, which in the meantime had been relegated to the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan . After the season he ended his career.

International

For Sweden , Nordström took part in the 1998 , 1999 , 2000 , 2003 and 2005 World Championships .
