Max Sillig (born November 19, 1873 in La Tour-de-Peilz , † November 15, 1959 in Lausanne ) was a Swiss ice hockey player and official.

Career

Max Sillig was director of a private school in Vevey and played ice hockey for CP Lausanne , HC Bellerive Vevey , SC Leysin and HC Les Avants . He was also one of the founding members of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation and was the first president of this organization. Sillig competed for the Swiss national ice hockey team at the European Championships in 1910 and 1911 . This was followed by assignments in the LIHG championship in 1912 and 1913 .

In 1920 he took part with the national team at the Summer Olympics in Antwerp . From 1920 to 1922 he was also President of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF . At the beginning of his term of office, the first unofficial ice hockey world championship (April 23-29, 1920) fell, which were also the ice hockey competitions of the 1920 Olympic Games.
