The club was founded in 1908 and was also one of the founding members of the Swiss championship. In addition, the club took part in the Coupe de Chamonix in 1909 and in the ice hockey tournaments in Les Avants (1911 and 1914).

Between 1915 and 1919 the CPL also took part in the international Swiss championship. In the same year he also reached the final of the national championship , which was lost 7-1 to HC Bern .

In 1922 the club was invited to take part in an ice hockey tournament in St. Moritz . As part of this tournament, some members of the Patineurs decided to found an independent ice hockey club called the Lausanne Hockey Club . Therefore, today the CP Lausanne is partly seen as the predecessor of the Lausanne HC.
