Adolf Hosp

Adolf Hosp (born April 8, 1892 in Satteins , † December 12, 1972 in Frastanz ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ) and electrical engineer. From 1928 to 1934 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Between 1906 and 1909 Hosp was employed as a boat ticker in the Lorenz Hosp embroidery business in Satteins. Between July 1914 and November 1918 he completed an electromechanical apprenticeship at Elektra Bregenz and passed the journeyman's examination. In between, he did four months of military service on the southern front during the First World War. From November 1918 to January 1919, Hosp was briefly employed as a fitter at the Schlins-Satteins electrical works, after which he worked as a self-employed fitter at the Gebhard Burtscher electrical works in Satteins until February 1920. From 1920 to 1922, Hosp completed a degree in electrical engineering, department for office and industrial technicians and foremen, at the Mittweida technical center in Saxony and then worked as an electrician at "Rheinelektra" (Rheinische Elektrizitäts-Aktiengesellschaft) in Mannheim from 1922 to 1923 . In September 1923 he joined the Vorarlberg state electricity company in Bregenz. From 1915 to 1959, he acted as operations manager at the Bürs substation , and in 1929 he was also temporary operations manager at the Lawena state works in Liechtenstein .

Politics and functions

Hosp was heavily active in Christian organizations and gymnastics. He was a member of the Christian Social Party, a member of the Catholic journeyman's association in Germany, a member of the Catholic club house in Bludenz and a member of the Kolping Youth in Bludenz. Furthermore, he was involved as a member of the Christian salaried union and chairman of the local group Bludenz, was chairman of the city cartel of the Christian labor movement and chairman of the local group Bürs of the union for private employees Bludenz. After the Second World War he also became a member of the ÖAAB and acted as local chairman of Bürs from 1952 to 1959. As early as 1909, he was a founding member of the Satteins gymnastics association, and he was also active as the head of the senior men in the Bludenz gymnastics association and as chairman of the Frastanz gymnastics association. He was also a member of the Vorarlberg Rheingau, supervisory board and supervisory board chairman of the savings and loan fund Bludenz, a member of the Bürs church council and a member of the state school council.

As a member of the Bludenz constituency, Hosp was a member of the state parliament from April 2, 1928 to November 13, 1934. In 1945 he was also a member of the Bürs municipal council.

Private

Adolf Hosp was born the son of the Sattein master butcher Lorenz Hosp and his wife Maria Agatha Müller. He married Anna Gstach in 1929 and had two daughters and a son between 1930 and 1935.
