Otto Schneitberger (born September 29, 1939 in Bad Tölz ) is a former German ice hockey player and coach. The 119-time national player and three-time Olympic participant is considered the best player in the history of the Düsseldorfer EG and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame Germany in 2006.

The trained architect began his career in 1950 at EC Bad Tölz , for which he played until 1963. Here he won his first championship title in 1962 together with player-coach Hans Rampf . In 1963 he wanted to move to the Düsseldorfer EG , but he did not get any approval from Bad Tölz and was banned by the association for a year.

In 1964 he started his career at Düsseldorfer EG and the championship title in 1967 followed - again with Hans Rampf, who was now completely dedicated to coaching - in 1972 under coach Xaver Unsinn and in 1975 under coach Chuck Holdaway .

In 1975 he moved to Krefelder EV , where he first worked as a player and from 1976 to 1978 as a coach. Later he was coach of the Düsseldorfer EG in the 1978/79 season and from 1983 to 1987, the Cologne EC in the 1979/80 season, the ECD Iserlohn in 1980/81 , the Duisburger SC from 1981 to 1983 and the Ratinger Ice Aliens in 1997 .

Otto Schneitberger played 119 times for the German national ice hockey team , including at the Olympic Games in 1960 , 1964 and 1972, and most recently at the 1975 Ice Hockey World Championship .

His services were honored with his admission to the Hockey Hall of Fame Germany . He was named the best DEG player of all time in the second final game of the 2005/06 season .
