Lothar Kremershof (born March 4, 1953 in Krefeld , † December 1, 2003 in Tönisvorst ) was a German ice hockey player and coach .
Career
The Krefeld native, who acted in the position of the striker, was initially active for the Krefeld EV , with which he won the German runner-up in 1977. He then went on the ice for Düsseldorfer EG , with which Kremershof reached second place in the Bundesliga two more times . With 23 goals and 57 assists in 42 games, the 1979/80 season was the statistically most successful season in the Düsseldorf jersey . With Dick Decloe , he was considered the most dangerous striker in the Bundesliga in the 1980s. In 1981 the attacker returned to the Krefelder EV, for which he laced his skates until 1985. The German international finally ended his playing career at Neusser SC . During his work as a trainer he was a great supporter of youth work at Krefelder EV. He also coached Neusser SC and Grefrather EV , with whom in 1998 they were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga .
International
Kremershof represented the Federal Republic of Germany at the junior level at the U19 European Junior Championship in 1972 , which he completed as the most successful goalscorer with eight goals in five games. He was also used in the German national team in two international matches .
Others
In his honor, the Lothar Kremershof Cup is held in the Rheinlandhalle every year at the beginning of November .
