Every two years, the media prize of the German AIDS Foundation honors artistic contributions and works from newspapers, television, radio and new media that report knowledgeably about HIV / AIDS and thus contribute to solidarity with those affected. An independent jury will decide on the award of a total of 15,000 euros for up to three entries. The prize has been awarded since 1987 , as a journalist prize until 1996 and annually until 2000. Artistic contributions have been admitted since 1997. The YOUTH media award, combined with prize money of 3,000 euros, was launched in the 2009/2010 tender year.
