Rainer Zerwesz

Rainer Zerwesz (born January 10, 1969 in Timișoara , Romania ) is a former German ice hockey player (striker) and national player.

Player career

Coming from VfL Waldkraiburg , where he was already in the first team in the Regionalliga Süd in 1988/89 , he moved to the Bundesliga for Düsseldorfer EG in the 1990/91 season and won the German championship title three times in a row with the team .

In Düsseldorf he continued his playing career even after the introduction of the German Ice Hockey League until the 1994/95 season.

In the summer of 1995 he switched to the Kölner Haien , where he played until 1999. He then played for one season each with Adler Mannheim and Berlin Capitals , before moving back to DEG Metro Stars in Düsseldorf.

In the summer of 2003 he went back to EHC Waldkraiburg , for whose first team he played in the Bayern League until the 2006/07 season , and then ended his career.

In the national team he took part in the World Cup in 1988 and 1989 .

Since the 2014/2015 season, Rainer Zerwesz has been training the first team of the EHC Waldkraiburg in the Bayern League and the Oberliga Süd .
