Henrik Hölscher (born September 20, 1972 in Düsseldorf ) is a former German ice hockey player who played in the German ice hockey league for the Maddogs Munich , the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , the Kassel Huskies , the Wölfe Freiburg , the Hamburg Freezers , the Füchse Duisburg , the DEG Metro Stars as well as played for the Krefeld Pinguine .

Career

The 186 cm tall and 84 kg striker began his career in the youth team of the Düsseldorfer EG and finished his last junior season with over two points per game. At the age of 18, he received nine appearances for the DEG professionals in the 1990/91 season and his performance was so good that in the 1991/92 season he was given a regular place in the squad of the German champions at the time. In the following season 1992/93 he came in the first 29 games on four goals and a total of seven points, with only eight penalty minutes. But the chance of getting a place in the first rows was not great against competitors such as Dieter Hegen , Gerd Truntschka , Chris Valentine , Peter-John Lee , Ernst Köpf and Andreas Brockmann . Therefore, he switched to ESV Kaufbeuren during the season . Then he went to the Mad Dogs Munich , the reigning champion at the time. The Mad Dogs had to withdraw from the game during the season and Hölscher moved again, this time to Nuremberg . He stayed with the Ice Tigers for two years and played his best season so far with 12 goals and 33 points in 57 games.

After that, Hölscher decided to complete an apprenticeship first, while also playing in lower leagues (regional league to the second highest division) in North Rhine-Westphalia. After his commercial training was finished in the summer of 2000, he resumed playing in the DEL, first station was Kassel, later Wolfsburg, Bad Nauheim, Riessersee and Freiburg in the 2nd division. In summer 2005 he went to the Hamburg Freezers, in 2006 to EV Duisburg and finally back to DEG in 2007. During the 2007/08 season he moved to the other side of the Rhine to the Krefeld Penguins, where he ended his active career after a year.
