Bernd Kühnhauser (born August 27, 1971 in Rosenheim ) is a former German ice hockey player who played in the German ice hockey league from 1989 to 2007 for the Düsseldorfer EG and the DJK SB Rosenheim, among others .

Career

Bernd Kühnhauser began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth division of DJK SB Rosenheim , for whose professional team he made his debut in the 1st Bundesliga in the 1989/90 season . The attacker then played for a year for the Augsburg Panthers in the 2nd League South , where he began the 1991/92 season before returning to Rosenheim in the 1st Bundesliga. In the summer of 1992, the former junior international signed with Rosenheim's league rivals Düsseldorfer EG , with whom he immediately won the German championship . He was able to repeat this success with his team in the 1995/96 season, meanwhile in the German Ice Hockey League , which had been founded two years earlier .

After the Düsseldorfer EG withdrew from the DEL in 1998 for financial reasons, Kühnhauser returned to Rosenheim, for which he spent the following two seasons in the top German league, before they had to withdraw from the DEL in 2000 for the same reason as before the DEG . For the 2000/01 season, the left shooter was committed by his ex-club from Düsseldorf, who had in the meantime achieved promotion. The Bavarian stayed in the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia until 2005, before he was on the ice again for Starbulls Rosenheim, now in the third-class league , where he ended his career at the age of 35 following the 2006/07 season .

International

For Germany , Kühnhauser took part in the U20 Junior B World Championship in 1991 and the 1996 World Championship .
