Silvio Smalun

Silvio Smalun (born November 2, 1979 in Erfurt ) is a former German figure skater and two-time German champion.

biography

Silvio Smalun started figure skating at the age of 5 in Erfurt and initially trained with Ilona Schindler together with Stefan Lindemann . In 1995 he went to Oberstdorf and trained with Michael Huth . In addition to his studies, he partly trained in Ulm.

In 2006 Smalun fulfilled the Olympic standard with 8th place at the European Championships. However, he was not nominated because Germany only had one starting place in the men and this was awarded to Stefan Lindemann.

In autumn 2006, Smalun took part in the ProSieben Show Stars on Ice . There he was the dance partner of the singer Lucy Diakovska . Although he was always a single runner, he convinced there as a pair runner and won 3rd place with his partner.

Silvio Smalun is currently studying computer science at the Ulm University of Applied Sciences . He ended his amateur career in September 2006.
