Michael Huth
Michael Huth (born September 2, 1969 in Dresden ) is a German figure skating coach and former figure skater.
Michael Huth started ice skating at the age of five. He was active in Dresden and Chemnitz - here under trainer Jutta Müller - as a single and pair runner . Huth became GDR champion for SC Einheit Dresden in 1988 and was part of the East German Olympic team in Calgary that season . After the end of his career, he studied sports science at the DHfK Leipzig , the Technical University of Munich and the University of Cologne . Currently (2017/2018) he is working as a trainer in Oberstdorf , Vesileppis and Val Gardena .
Michael Huth achieved his outstanding success as a coach with the European champions Carolina Kostner (2007, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2013, world champion 2012) and Tomáš Verner (2008). In addition to Verner, he is currently training multiple German champion Nicole Schott and several young German talents in Oberstdorf . Other well-known former protégés of Huth are Evelyn Großmann , Susanne Stadlmüller , Sydne Vogel , Sarah-Michelle Villanueva , Anton Kowalewskyj , Annette Dytrt , Kristin Wieczorek and Silvio Smalun .
