Hermann Schulz (figure skater)

Hermann Schulz (born December 14, 1961 in Dresden ) is a former German figure skater of the SC Einheit Dresden , who started in a single run for the GDR .

Schulz learned his first triple jumps at the Dresden DEC and celebrated great successes with the trainer Ingrid Lehmann . He already took part in the European Championships in Copenhagen at the age of 13 and placed eighth. In the following years he was a participant in European championships (1980, 1981) and world championships (1979, 1980). In 1980 he was a member of the GDR team at the Olympic Games in Lake Placid , which he finished eleventh. His best world championship result was tenth in 1980 .

In 1978 he won the Men's Blue Swords Cup ; Katarina Witt was successful for women . Hermann Schulz was DDR champion in 1981 and fourth at the subsequent European championship in Innsbruck . But he had to stop in 1981 for health reasons.

Dr. Hermann Schulz works as an internist in a dialysis center in Döbeln . He is a judge at the national and international level of figure skating.
