List of Olympic champions in figure skating

The list of Olympic champions in figure skating lists all winners as well as the second and third places of the figure skating competitions at the Summer and Winter Olympics , broken down by men and women and the individual competitions, since 1908. In the further part, all figure skaters who have been Olympic champions at least once are listed. The individual nation ratings conclude.

The Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir are the most successful figure skaters at the Olympic Games with three gold and two silver medals each.

Competitions

Figure skating was part of the Olympic competition program before the 1924 Winter Games was launched. The first medals in figure skating were awarded at the 1908 Summer Games . The disciplines of individual running for men and women and pair running, which are still part of the Olympic program of the Winter Games , had their premiere as early as 1908. Only in the first year was the competition in the men's special figures part of the official program. Before the 1924 Winter Games took over figure skating, competitions were held again at the Summer Games in 1920 . The ice dancing since the Winter Games of 1976 in the program. The team competition has been part of the program since the 2014 Winter Games .
