Wolfgang Danne (born December 9, 1941 in Hildesheim ; † June 16, 2019 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a former German figure skater who started in pair skating .

Danne represented the SC Riessersee . He began his pair skating career at the side of Sigrid Riechmann . In 1963 and 1964 they were third in the German championships . Her best international placings were sixth place at the 1964 European championship and ninth place at the 1964 world championship . Then Danne changed his figure skating partner and from now on competed with Margot Glockshuber . With her he became German pair skating champion in 1967 and 1968 . In the period from 1965 to 1968 Glockshuber and Danne competed in world and European championships . At the European Championships they won the bronze medal in 1966 and the silver medal in 1967 . They won their only world championship medal in Vienna in 1967 , where they were runner-up behind Lyudmila Belousova and Oleg Protopopov from the Soviet Union. At the 1968 Olympic Games in Grenoble , the couple won bronze. After the end of their amateur career, Glockshuber and Danne appeared in the ice revue Ice Capades until 1972.

On December 11, 1965, he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf for his athletic achievements .

From 1982 Wolfgang Danne worked as a trainer, first in Frankfurt am Main , later in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . He is the first athlete to be sponsored by Deutsche Sporthilfe .
