Andreas Nischwitz (born April 1, 1957 in Stuttgart , Baden-Württemberg ) is a former German figure skater who started internationally in pair skating .

He started his career as a single runner at the ERC in Stuttgart and later moved to TUS Stuttgart. In 1974 he started pair skating . His first ice skating partner was Susanne Scheibe . His trainers were Helene Beck , Karin Frohner and Karel Fajfr . With the disk Nischwitz became German pair skating champion in 1977 and 1978 . In both years they also took part in World and European Championships and finished them all four times in eighth place.

With his second ice skating partner Christina Riegel , Nischwitz was German pair skating champion from 1979 to 1981 . In 1981 Nischwitz and Riegel celebrated their greatest successes. First they were runner- up in Innsbruck behind Irina Vorobjowa and Igor Lissowski and then won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Hartford .

After his partner withdrew from competitive sports, Nischwitz also ended his ice skating career and continued his studies in dentistry at the University of Tübingen , which he had started in 1977 and interrupted because of the 1980 Olympic Games. Today he works as a dentist in Tübingen . Andreas Nischwitz is married and has three children.
