Irina Nikolajewna Vorobjowa ( Russian Ирина Николаевна Воробьёва , English Irina Vorobieva ; born June 30, 1958 in Leningrad , Soviet Union ) is a former Soviet figure skater who started in pair skating .

Her first figure skating partner was Alexander Vlasov . The couple, who were coached by Tamara Moskwina , had their first international appearance at the 1974 World Cup , which they finished in sixth place. In 1976 Vorobyova and Vlasov were Soviet champions in the absence of Irina Rodnina and Alexander Saizew . That year they also won their first international medals. Both at the European Championships in Geneva and at the World Championships in Gothenburg they won bronze behind Rodnina and Saizew and Romy Kermer and Rolf Oesterreich from the GDR . They finished the Olympic Games in Innsbruck in fourth place due to some mistakes. In 1977 they became vice-European champions in Helsinki and vice-world champions in Tokyo behind their outstanding compatriots.

From 1979 Vorobyova started pair skating with her husband Igor Lisovsky . They were in Zagreb at first European runner-up behind their compatriots Marina Cherkasova and Sergei Schachrai . At the world championship they just barely missed a medal against Sabine Baeß and Tassilo Thierbach from the GDR as fourth . In 1980 the couple did not take part in any international tournament. On their return, Vorobyova and Lisovsky were European champions in Innsbruck in 1981 and world champions in Hartford . 1982 was the last year of the couple's careers. It was enough to win a bronze medal at the European Championships in Lyon , and they finished fifth at the World Championships .

Vorobyova works as a trainer in Colorado Springs .
