Walter Andreas Jakobsson (born February 6, 1882 in Helsinki , † June 10, 1957 in Zurich ) was a Finnish figure skater who started in pair skating .

In 1907 Jakobsson, who was studying engineering in Berlin , met his skating partner Ludowika Eilers . In 1911 he married her. The medals that the couple at the world championships in 1910 and 1911 won are from the ISU counted in ratings Nations still half for Germany and the other half for Finland. The couple became world champions in 1911 , 1914 and 1923 and vice-world champions in 1910 , 1912 , 1913 and 1922 . They won the gold medal at the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp . At the 1924 Olympic Games in Chamonix , they won Olympic silver behind Helene Engelmann and Alfred Berger . The couple took part in the Olympic Games one last time in 1928 , but it was no longer enough for a medal, they finished fifth.

Walter and Ludowika Jakobsson moved from Berlin to Helsinki in 1916, where Walter worked as technical director at Kone OY (now Konecranes ), one of the largest manufacturers of cranes in the world.

Jakobsson was also an amateur photographer and was a member of the 'Fotografiamatörklubben i Helsingfors' (Helsinki Amateur Photography Club, FiH). He liked to photograph dark cityscapes with special light effects.
