Lloyd Edgar Eisler (born April 28, 1963 in Seaforth , Ontario ) is a former Canadian figure skater who started in pair skating .

His first figure skating partner, with whom he appeared internationally among the seniors, was Katherina Matousek . With her he finished tenth at the first joint world championship in 1983 . In 1984 Eisler and Matousek became Canadian pair skating champions. They finished the Sarajevo Olympics in eighth place and the World Cup in fifth place. The last time they performed together, they won the 1985 World Championships in Tokyo with bronze behind the Soviet couples Jelena Walowa and Oleg Wassiljew as well as Larissa Selesnjowa and Oleg Makarow, their only significant medal. After that, the skating couple separated.

Eisler successfully continued his career in 1987 with Isabelle Brasseur . With her he was Canadian champion in 1989 and from 1991 to 1994. They took part in world championships between 1988 and 1994 . From 1990 to 1994 they always reached the podium. In 1992 they won the bronze medal, in 1990, 1991 and 1994 they became vice world champions and in 1993 in Prague world champions. Eisler and Brasseur played three Olympic Games together . In 1988 in Calgary they finished ninth and in 1992 in Albertville and 1994 in Lillehammer they won the bronze medal. It was Canada's first pair of Olympic pair skating medals since Debbi Wilkes and Guy Revell won the bronze medal in 1964 . The choreographer for Eisler and Brasseur was Uschi Keszler .

After retiring in 1994, Eisler and Brasseur organized figure skating events across Canada to raise money for seriously ill children and grant them wishes.

Together with Brasseur, Eisler wrote the book To Catch a Dream in 1996 and the follow-up title The Professional Years .

2006 joined Eisler at FOX in the show Skating with Celebrities (figure skating with celebrities) together with the actress Kristy Swanson on. The affair reportedly began when his wife Marcia was eight months pregnant with their second child. Eisler denied, but his wife Marcia separated from him. Swanson and Eisler had a son on February 15, 2007 and were married in February 2009.

Effective October 6, 2006, Eisler was suspended from the Canadian Ice Skating Association for one year as a coach. He had emailed a 15 year old student with sexually suggestive content. Since Eisler was already training in the USA, the ban did not affect him. No charges were brought.
