Meagan Duhamel (born December 8, 1985 in Lively , Ontario ) is a Canadian figure skater who starts in pair skating . She is world champion in 2015 and 2016 and four continents champion in 2013 and 2015 (together with Eric Radford ).

Career

From 2007 to 2010 Duhamel ran alongside Craig Buntin . Her greatest successes were sixth place at the 2008 World Cup and winning the bronze medal at the Four Continents Championships in 2010. Buntin ended his career due to injuries. Duhamel was also considering retiring due to numerous injuries.

In the spring of 2010, Duhamel finally decided to continue her career. Her new partner was Eric Radford .

In 2011 the figure skating couple won the silver medal at the four continents championships. In 2012 Duhamel / Radford became Canadian champions for the first time . In 2013 they defended this title and won their first major international title with gold at the Four Continents Championships in Osaka . At the following world championship in London , Canada , the couple won their first medal at world championships with bronze . The following year they repeated this in Saitama .

Duhamel / Radford became world champions at the 2015 World Championships in Shanghai . They also defended this title at the 2016 World Cup in Boston .

At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she won the gold medal with the Canadian team and bronze in the pairs with Radford.

Personal

Duhamel has been married to her trainer Bruno Marcotte since June 5, 2015 .
