Mari-Doris Vartmann
Mari-Doris Vartmann (born December 25, 1988 in Neuss ) is a German figure skater .
biography
Mari Vartmann started figure skating in Neuss when she was five. Four years later, she moved to Düsseldorfer EG because of the better training opportunities. In 2004 Mari Vartmann began to run in pairs. It is a member of the Düsseldorfer EG. From January 2004 to 2009 she ran together with Florian Just . Mari Vartmann and Florian Just first trained with Julia Gnilosoubowa. In autumn 2004 they changed their trainer and were then looked after by Knut Schubert . They trained in both Dortmund and Berlin .
Mari Vartmann had to withdraw from the Nebelhorn Trophy 2006 in Oberstdorf due to a slight concussion as a result of a fall from a lifting figure .
The couple Vartmann / Just separated in 2009 right after the NRW Trophy. Since then, Mari Vartmann ran with the Canadian-born Aaron Van Cleave . This couple was also trained by Knut Schubert, the training location was Berlin. After the 2015 World Cup , the couple Vartmann / Van Cleave separated. Then Mari Vartmann ran with Ruben Blommaert until the end of 2016 . She found a new partner in Matti Landgraf . They also train with the Wende couple in Oberstdorf.
Mari Vartmann has been a sports soldier in the Bundeswehr since 2012 .
2011/2012
During training before the freestyle on her European championship debut with Aaron Van Cleave there was a collision between Mari Vartmann and Daniel Wende , as a result of which Mari Vartmann had a severe headache and Daniel Wende's runner was damaged. Vartmann / Van Cleave completed the freestyle on the same day of the accident without errors and finished 5th in the competition. At the subsequent World Championship they reached the final and finished 14th. They qualified for two Grand Prix starts in the 2012/2013 season.
2012/2013
The Vartmann / VanClaeve couple had to withdraw from the Nebelhorn Trophy due to injury. Mari Vartmann injured her foot during the short program. After the injury had healed, Aaron van Cleave injured himself while training for the triple throw. He broke his nose. Although the couple qualified for two Grand Prix, the couple could not start because of this injury. After a long absence from training, both German runners-up in pair skating at the German championship in Hamburg .
2013/2014
The couple started the Olympic season with a third place in the Nebelhorn Trophy and for the first time showed a very clean triple throw in both parts of the program.
2014/2015
Mari Vartmann and Aaron van Cleave win the title in figure skating for sports couples for the first time at the 2015 German Championships, which were held in Stuttgart in December 2014. After the world championships, the couple split up.
2015/2016
Mari Vartmann runs together with Ruben Blommaert . You train in Oberstdorf . Trainers are Maylin Wende and Daniel Wende .
2016/2017
Mari Vartmann and Ruben Blommaert become German champions. The couple then split up and, although qualified, no longer competes in the European Championships. Mari Vartmann has been training with Matti Landgraf since the beginning of 2017.
