Hugo winemaker
Hugo Winzer (* 1862 ; † January 13, 1937 in Dresden ) was a German figure skater . He started mainly in pair skating. He and his wife Hedwig Winzer became German champion in pair skating in 1912.
Hugo Winzer began ice skating in Leipzig in 1886, inspired by the Finnish ice skater Neiglick. Hugo Winzer was studying chemistry at the University of Leipzig at that time.
He had to give up his job because of a serious lung condition. To recover, he moved to Switzerland , where he also trained figure skating.
Hugo Winzer married Hedwig Müller from Berlin. The couple also started skating internationally.
After his figure skating career, he became a figure skating judge. He also published a number of articles on ice skating, for example in the Handbuch der Leibesübungen No. 8, 1925 on the "History of German Figure Skating".
