Bradie Tennell (born January 31, 1998 in Winfield , Illinois ) is an American figure skater .
Life
Tennel grew up with her single mother and her two younger brothers. She attended the local community college. She started skating at the age of two. Denise Myers has been her trainer since 2007. In the 2014/15 season she started in the "ISU Junior Grand Prix" series for the first time, where she finished eighth in Nagoya . In 2015 she became the US national champion in the juniors category. In the months that followed, the American suffered stress fractures from which she recovered.
In 2016 she made her international debut and in 2017 she finished the US figure skating championships in ninth place. At the 2017 Junior World Championships in Taipei , she finished seventh in the women's singles. In the same year, she secured her first medal in a Grand Prix competition with bronze at Skate America . In 2018 she finally won the US championships for the first time after first places in the short program and the freestyle with 219.51 points ahead of Mirai Nagasu and Karen Chen .
In February 2018, she participated in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . Tennell took bronze in the team competition , where she achieved fifth place with her individual performance in the short program (68.94 points), just 0.01 points behind fourth place. In the women's singles she finished ninth with 192.35 points.
The World Figure Skating Championships 2018 in Milan Tennell ran to sixth place overall. After seventh place in the short program, she improved with the fourth best freestyle performance.
