Grace Elizabeth "Gracie" Gold (born August 17, 1995 in Newton , Massachusetts ) is an American figure skater who starts in a single run .
Career
Gracie Gold started figure skating at the age of seven after watching other girls at a birthday party on the rink.
In 2012, Gracie became Gold Junior Champion in the USA. A little later she won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in Minsk behind the Russian Julija Lipnitskaja .
In the 2012/13 season, Gold made its debut in the Grand Prix series . At her second Grand Prix, the Cup of Russia , she won her first Grand Prix medal with silver. On her World Cup debut, Gold finished sixth in London, Canada .
In her Olympic debut at the 2014 Olympic Games , she was able to achieve 4th place in the individual competition with 205.53 points and thus only just missed the medal ranks. In the team competition before, however, she won a bronze medal.
Personal
Gold is the daughter of Denise, a nurse , and Carl Gold, an anesthetist . Her dizygoti twin sister Carly also practices figure skating as a competitive sport .
